PLANNING IS CRITICAL
Choosing custom pieces for your home can transform your living space into something that both reflects your personal style and is functional for your specific needs. Sadly, in today's cookie-cutter production world too often efficiency and economy are presumed to be the wise choice and have taken precedence over well thought-out design and quality craftsmanship.
At Revere90° I provide an alternative to this standard practice in designing and building aesthetic and practical wood cabinetry and furniture intended to stand the test of time.
FIRST | Get In Touch
Contact me via email, text or phone and we can begin a discussion. It can often be challenging to describe in words a particular vision you may have which is why I recommend sending a picture of something you like. This typically saves a lot of time up front and can alleviate miscommunication in helping me understand your desires and expectations regarding design and specific materials. If an in-person meeting is possible, this can be helpful but not necessary.
SECOND | Rough Estimate
Next I will provide you with an estimate based on our discussion. If the estimate fits your budget we’ll move on to the next phase.
NEXT | Design & Tight Estimate
There are many aesthetic and functional considerations for a project. Once we've discussed these options and a final design is agreed upon I will provide a more accurate estimate. If approved, a materials cost deposit is required to confirm your order. A project schedule will also be provided at this time.
NOW | Work Begins!
Now the actual building of your project begins. It’s very important to me that you are comfortable throughout this entire process so if you have any questions or concerns I encourage you to let me know as soon as possible. My goal is always two-fold – to build a quality piece, and that you delighted with the results.
BUILT-IN FLOOR-TO-CEILING BOOKSHELVES
Below highlights a recent project. It traces the evolution of building a custom-made, floor-to-ceiling bookcase. This simple and practical bookcase was designed to compliment a modern kitchen renovation.
It was constructed with 3/4" Birch plywood, assembled using dado joinery for all shelves and face-framed in Poplar (which is excellent for paintability). These three practices provide exceptional strength and durability, and ensure the shelves will never "sag" and remain arrow-straight regardless of how much is piled onto them.
